Part 2 of Luke 19:41-44

What did Christ declare?  "They are hid."  Peace could have come, but instead, it is hidden.  And as a result of the hiding, Judgement is set.
Enemies will surround Jerusalem and destroy the city.  All of this is the direct result their failure to recognize the time of their visitation.  The visitation was the appearance of the Messiah, their Messiah and the Kingdom He was presenting and offering to them.
What does Israel do? Reject, and refuse the offer being made.

It is hard to get people to understand, that this refusal affects the entirety of the world.

Jesus wept over the city. "If thou hadst known, even thou at least in this thy day." It was available for them. They refused. Now they are blinded....it was hid.

Matthew 11:20-24
20 Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not:
21 Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you.
23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
24 But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

What an indictment against this people.
Jesus list these cities as those that had not repented.  I think you can begin to see, this whole people was rebellious and rejecting the Kingdom and the Messiah.

When you look to Matthew 12:24 you can see where this rebellious people, the religious leaders, again rejected Jesus a King, by attributing His miracles to Satan.  The refusal of Israel, to repent and believe in Jesus completely stops the Kingdom being established at this time.

Now the sorrow should be clear. It will even come to the place that he begins to speak in parables, so they will walk in hidden status, and not even know how He wanted to gather them and give unto them the kingdom, promised all through the Bible.

Yep, He cried. He declares no more signs. The signs which would prove He was who He said He was.
It is all hidden.

More later.
